Scripture John 2:1-11

When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.”

Observation

Here is the prime example of Mary's ability to intercede with Jesus on behalf of others. Despite being reluctant because it is not yet his time Jesus does indeed solve the problem that Mary brings to his attention.

Application

When we are unable to address Jesus directly, Mary, who is our mother as well as Jesus' is always willing to ask on our behalf.

Prayer

Hail Mary full of grace,

the Lord is with thee

Blessed art though among women,

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death

Amen
